Vidarbha Hockey Association defeat Hockey Jammu & Kashmir 4-0

Action in the 8th Hockey India Sub Junior (Women) National Championship 2018 (B Division) continued here today into its fourth day which saw Vidarbha Hockey Association defeat Hockey Jammu & Kashmir 4-0 while Bengal Hockey Association and Hockey Puducherry played out a 3-3 draw, in their Pool A fixtures.

In the first match of the day, Bengal Hockey Association and Hockey Puducherry displayed some very exciting game of hockey as they played out a 3-3 draw. The match saw Hockey Puducherry score in the 10th minute through S Subasri, however, Bengal Hockey Association made a quick come back by scoring two back to back goals in a span of two minutes through Sirsha Ghosh in the 25th and 26th minutes to take a 2-1 lead. Hockey Puducherry over came the deficit  with some excellent moves and equalised in the 31st minute through S Subasri to end the first half at 2-2. In the second half, both teams kept up the tempo of the match as they looked for a winner but S Subasri's third goal of the match in the 38th minute could not secure the victory for Hockey Puducherry as Bengal Hockey Association equalised for the second time in the match when their skipper Rima Chakraborty found the back of the net in the 41st minute.

In another Pool A match, Vidarbha Hockey Association defeated Hockey Jammu & Kashmir by a margin of 4-0. It was a comprehensive performance from Vidarbha Hockey Association as they were efficient in their forward play, scoring three field goals in the match while one came from a Penalty Stroke that was awarded to them in the 49th minute. Vidarbha Hockey Association's goals were scored by skipper Himanshi Gawande (19', 49'), Mansi Dhumal (23') and Palak Sawaimul (55').
