PKL 2017: Paltan win Maharashtra derby, Pirates outclass Thalaivas

In Saturday’s Maharashtra derby, Puneri Paltan defeated U Mumba 26-24 in a close contest.  U Mumba suffered 2nd successive defeat at home as Paltan staged an inspiring comeback as their skipper Deepak Hooda led from the front, scoring 7 points. After this match, the Paltans and are placed 4th  (21 points) , while Mumba are 5th (17 points) on the points table in Zone A.

In another match, Patna Pirates outclassed Tamil Thalaivas 35-24 as Monu Goyat turned out to be the star performer for Patna, scoring 11 points. For Thalaivas, Ajay Thakur got 10 raid points but did not get much support from the other members in the team. The loss means that the Thalaivas still stay at the bottom of the points table in Zone B.

On Sunday, the 49th match of the Pro Kabaddi League season 5 will feature two in form teams as Bengal Warriors will be up against Bengaluru Bulls. In the 50 th match, hosts U Mumba will look to get their first win at home this season as they compete against Dabang Delhi K.C. Both the matches will take place at the The Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Indoor Stadium in Mumbai.
