PKL 2017: Bengaluru Bulls beat UP Yoddha, Puneri Paltan defeated Dabang Delhi

A depleted Puneri Paltan put up a spirited show against Dabang Delhi to win 34-31, at the Shree Chhatrapati Shivaji Sports Complex in Pune.

Pune, who were without Girish Maruti and Ziaur Rahman, was outplayed by Delhi for a major portion of the match, but captain Deepak Hooda and Rajesh Mondal snatched victory from the hands of defeat. Pune, after 19 games have a chance of topping Zone A with three more games to go. With Puneri Paltan booked their place in super playoffs with 73 points in 19 matches while Dabang Delhi has the worst record this season managing 38 points in 22 matches

In the second match, Bengaluru Bulls produced a measured a performance to beat UP Yoddha 36-30 in the Pro Kabaddi Season 5. Rohit Kumar was in fine raiding form and scored 13 points to lead Bulls to a much-needed victory. With Nitin Tomar missing, UP Yoddha were reliant on Rishank Devadiga who couldn’t deliver. Surender Singh scored 10 raid points for UP Yoddha but didn’t get enough support from his defence.

Despite the loss, UP Yoddha became the sixth and last team to seal their spot in the super playoffs whereas Bengaluru climbed off the bottom to fourth with 49 points.
