PKL 2017: Puneri Paltan beat UP Yoddha, Patna Pirates crush Steelers

In the first eliminator, Puneri Paltan unleashed all-round display to snatch the match from UP Yoddha with a narrow 40-38 victory. Deepak Hooda led the charge with his Super 10 display, aided ably by Girish Maruti Ernak (7 points) and Akshay Jadhav (6 points).

The Puneri Paltan will now face Patna Pirates who defeated Haryana Steelers in the second eliminator for a spot in Qualifier 2.

Patna Pirates crushed Haryana Steelers 69-30 in the second eliminator of the playoffs to continue their title hopes. Pardeep Narwal showed why he is regarded as the best raider in the league, scoring 34 points – most by any raider the history of Pro Kabaddi and also became the first man to reach 300 raid points in Season 5.

The Haryana Steelers as they couldn’t keep up with Narwal’s brilliant performance. Patna Pirates also recorded most points scored by any team in season 5 of Pro Kabaddi. Haryana’s fancied defence led by Surender Nada and Mohit buckled under pressure as they could score just three tackle.
