Archer Deepika Kumari wins triple gold medals at archery world cup, retains World No. 1 spot

Indian women's archer Deepika Kumari has won three gold medals in the Paris Archery World Cup stage in one day. Deepika scored a hat-trick in the competition by winning gold medals in individual, women's doubles and mixed doubles. She has become the world's number one archer after her stellar performances.

Deepika completed a hat-trick of gold medals in one day by defeating Elina Osipova of Russia 6-0 in the final of the women's individual recurve event.
Deepika won the first set 29-27 and then won the second set 29-28 to take a 4-0 lead and in the third set, Deepika won 28-27.

Deepika Kumari and his husband Atanu Das won the gold medal in the final of the Archery World Cup mixed team event on Sunday. The Indian pair defeated Jeff Van den Bergh and Gabriella Scholeser 5-3 of the Netherlands to give India their third gold medal in the tournament. Earlier, the Indian women's recurve team of Deepika, Ankita Bhagat and Komolika Bari won the gold medal with an easy 5-1 win over Mexico.

India now has four gold medals in this tournament. Earlier, Abhishek Verma won gold in the compound individual event on Saturday.

On this stupendous achievement of hers, Deepika said, 'I am extremely happy to perform like this and want to keep it up. I want to improve it further because the tournaments ahead are very important for me. I will try my best to continue what I can learn".
