India's World No.1 archer Deepika Kumari's journey comes to an end, loses QF tie 0 -6 to South Korea's An San

India's medal-winning hopes suffered a major setback in Archery. Deepika Kumari lost in the women's individual archery event in the quarterfinals. She was defeated by Korea's An San 6-0.

Deepika Kumari lost this match 27-30, 24-26, 24-26. Now all hopes are from Atanu Das in archery. Deepika Kumari lost the first set 30-27 to An San of Korea. An San hit all three arrows at 10. Deepika Kumari lost consecutive sets. Deepika lost the second set 26-24.

Deepika scored 7, 8, 9 in the third set. At the same time, the Korean player managed to score 8, 9, 9. She scored 10-10 only twice in the match, while An san scored 10-10 three times. Deepika and An San have faced each other at the same venue in the Tokyo 2020 Test Tournament in 2019 but the Indian player had to face defeat.

Deepika Kumari, however, is the first female archer from India to reach the quarter-finals of the Olympics.

The eighth day at the Tokyo Olympics was also great for India. During this, boxer Lovlina confirmed another medal for the country. She made it to the semifinals of the women's boxing 69kg weight category event. Lovnina defeated Chinese Taipei player Nien Chin Chen 4-1 in the quarterfinals. Whereas India beat Ireland 1-0 in women's hockey.
