Tokyo 2020: With eyes on Medal, Indian wrestlers Ravi Dahiya, Deepak Poonia reach Semi-finals

Indian wrestlers Ravi Dahiya in 57kg category and Deepak Poonia in 86kg category have reached the semi-finals. Ravi won the match against Bulgaria by 14-4 while Deepak beat Shen of China 6-3 in the last second.

Deepak Poonia will face David Morris Taylor of America in the semi-finals while Ravi will take on Nurislam Sanayev of Kazakhstan. Meanwhile, Anshu Malik's medal hopes in the women's 57kg category are still alive as her defeatist Irina has advanced to the semi-finals. If Irina reaches the final, Anshu will play the repechage round.

Now both of them will also play the semi-finals today. Both of them can ensure 2 more medals for India. India has won 5 medals overall in Olympic wrestling. KD Jadhav (1952), Sushil Kumar (2) (2008, 2012), Yogeshwar Dutt (2012) and Sakshi Malik (2016) have won.
