Tokyo 2020: Wrestler Ravi Dahiya secures India's 4th medal, reaches final of men's 57 kg wrestling

Ravi Kumar Dahiya of India has secured a place in the final of men's 57 kg freestyle wrestling. India's fourth medal in the Tokyo Olympics has also been confirmed with this.

Indian wrestler Ravi Dahiya defeated Sanayev Nurislam of Kazakhstan in the semi-final (57 kg). Dahiya secured his silver medal by winning the semi-finals while giving India a fourth medal at the Tokyo Olympics. Dahiya is the second Indian player after Sushil Kumar to win a silver medal in wrestling.

Ravi Dahiya defeated Bulgaria's Georgi Valentinov Vengelov 14-4 after defeating Colombia's Tigueros Urbano Oscar Edwardo 13-2 in the first round. In such a situation, he was considered a strong contender for entry in the final match.

India has won 5 medals overall in Olympic wrestling. KD Jadhav (1952), Sushil Kumar (2) (2008, 2012), Yogeshwar Dutt (2012) and Sakshi Malik (2016) have won.
