Undefeated: Virender Singh beats Ernest Amuzu, next stop Commonwealth title

Indian boxing superstar Vijender Singh continues to shine at the pro circuit as they boxer successfully defended his WBO and Asia Pacific Super Middleweight titles against African champion Ernest Amuzu.

With this victory, India’s boxing poster boy has now won 10 pro bouts on the trot. The 32-year-old dominated the bout, there was not a single moment in the fight where Vijender was in trouble and it was evident in the result as he didn’t lose a single round and won the fight with a unanimous 100-90 decision.

"Happy to end this year on a winning note. Now I will look forward to playing at least two titles next year -- Commonwealth and World title. I would like to thank the people of Jaipur for making this show a big success and thanks to all my fans across India for their support," Vijender said after his bout at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium.

He added, "I am really happy with winning this fight. I know he was a tough fighter and that is why the fight continued till 10 rounds, but yes, I was sticking to the strategy planned by my coaches, and that helped me in winning this fight."

The Commonwealth title is held by talented 27-year-old British boxer Luke Blackledge. Blackledge has won 23 fights which include eight knockouts from 30 fights.
