There is some great news coming for tennis fans. The management of the Wimbledon Championships is planning to have the Slam this year in spite of all the challenges.
The Grand Slam could not take place last year due to the Coronavirus pandemic. However, the management looks quite committed this time and has unveiled its spectator policy for the upcoming edition in 2021.
The management recently revealed that it was in no mood to cancel the Wimbledon Championships 2021 in England. What’s more, they may even let fans back in at a reduced capacity or even with a full-capacity.
“Majority of our planning focus is currently centred on the option of a reduced capacity Championships,” said the management.

The management has definitely indicated that it is looking at an option of holding a reduced capacity championship. However, it also highlighted that the Major could even take place behind closed doors.
The United Kingdom has not been successful in dealing with the Coronavirus cases like in Australia. With the new and even deadlier strain of the virus gaining ground, the management will have to take every step very carefully.
As per schedule, the Wimbledon Championships will begin on June 28th, 2021. There are largely 3 possible scenarios under which the Slam might unfold.
“Our scenarios fall into three broad categories: a full capacity Championships a, a reduced capacity Championships, and a ‘behind closed doors’ Championships,” said the management.
The Swiss Maestro Roger Federer will also target the Grand Slam as it might be his only shot at winning his 21st Grand Slam title.
Federer doesn’t really have a great record at the US Open and the French Open. As he withdrew from the Australian Open 2021 lately, Federer will be keen to lift the Wimbledon 2021 title.
Fans definitely hope that by late June, the situation gets better in the United Kingdom. They are quite excited about it and certainly don’t want it to be played behind closed doors.
