The official website of Padma Awards (www.padmaawards.gov.in) made a massive blunder by displaying the wrong photograph of Padma Shri recipient.
The website has posted Sanjita Chanu’s photograph instead of Siakhom Mirabai Chanu. Khumukcham Sanjita Chanu won a gold medal in the women’s 48 kg weight class at the 2014 Commonwealth Games at Glasgow.
The website got all the other sports personalities photograph correct but conveniently posted Sanjita Chanu’s photo with Mirabai Chanu accomplishment written in bold text.

The ignorance is really unjustifiable as Mirabai Chanu is the second woman from India to win a gold medal at the Senior World Weightlifting Championships after Karnam Malleswari. She lifted a world record of 194kg in total to win gold. 23-year-old, Chanu claim to fame includes a silver medal in the women's 48kg weight class at the 2014 Commonwealth Games at Glasgow.
Just because they share the same surname and hails from Manipur, it doesn’t mean they are the same person. This error that will haunt the editors for some time.
