Famous Indian wrestler and Commonwealth Games Gold Medalist Geeta Phogat recently addressed  a press conference at Shri Dauji Maharaj Dangal in Hathras city of Uttar Pradesh. She  said that Government is willing to support the players but the problem is the money does not reach these players. She also recalled how she had to fight for being appointed to the post of DSP in the Haryana Government.

Recently, the Indian contingent returned empty handed from World Wrestling Championships in Paris. Upon returning, the players had complained that they were forced to train at a local club in Boulevard de Bercy borough, situated at a distance of  250-300 kms from the main venue with hardly any facilities.

She also mentioned the importance of winning medals for the country and how they help inspire the youth. She also talked about her movie 'Dangal' and wanted to highlight the lack of facilities and how difficult it for aspiring wrestlers to make a career in this country.
