Punjab Police bust major drug racket, seize Rs 84L drug money, luxury vehicles

In a significant breakthrough, the Punjab Police has successfully dismantled a drug racket operating in the State. Sharing the information, the state Director General of Police (DGP) Gaurav Yadav on Sunday said that the operation, under the leadership of Jalandhar Commissioner of Police Swapan Sharma, led to the arrest of 13 individuals involved in the illicit drug trade and the recovery of drug money amounting to Rs 84 lakh, along with luxury vehicles and a truck.   The arrests were made in connection with a 48-kilogram heroin case, wherein the accused played various roles within the drug network, including suppliers, purchasers, and hawala operators.
