In preparation for the upcoming elections, District Election Officer  Ananya Mittal conducted an inspection of the postal ballot facility center established at the Tourist Information Centre. This center is designated for police officers, police force, and home guards to cast their votes.  Mittal was accompanied by Deputy Development Commissioner  Manish Kumar during the visit. During the inspection, senior district officials engaged with the Assistant Returning Officer (AERO) to gather information about the voting progress. They reviewed the arrangements made at the facility, including the guidance provided to voters through the help desk and the availability of essential amenities such as electricity, drinking water, toilets, and fans.  Mittal emphasized the importance of facilitating a smooth voting process and instructed all personnel on election duty to ensure they exercise their right to vote. The postal ballot voting process, which commenced on May 14, is designed for polling party members, police officers, home guards, district officers, essential service personnel, and other designated voters. The response has been enthusiastic, with 1,437 voters casting their ballots on the first day. Long queues have been observed at the Facilitation Center and Tourist Information Center located at Co-operative College. Additionally, district personnel have been actively encouraging voter participation by sharing photos on social media and WhatsApp groups, urging all voters to turn out on May 25. Mittal expressed satisfaction with the preparations and urged all personnel on election duty to exercise their right to vote. Long queues have been reported at both the Facilitation Center and the Tourist Information Center located at Co-operative College, demonstrating high voter turnout. District personnel have been actively encouraging voter participation by sharing their voting experiences on social media and WhatsApp groups, motivating others to vote on May 25. This enthusiastic response underscores the communitys dedication to contributing to the electoral process and ensuring a robust democratic outcome. In 2019, around 66.4 per cent votes were cast in the poll for Jamshedpur parliamentary seat, which ended peacefully here. Jamshedpur Lok Sabha constituency comprises the following six Vidhan Sabha (legislative assembly) segments: Baharagora Ghatshila, Potka, Jugsalai, Jamshedpur East and Jamshedpur West. Baharagora witnessed 75.46 per cent, Ghatshila 68.12 per cent, Potka 69.78, Jugsalai 70.78 per cent, Jamshedpur East 60.48 per cent and Jamshedpur West 57.85 per cent.
