PATNA: Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar on Saturday launched a scathing attack on Union home minister Amit Shahs utterances in Jhanjahrpur against the ruling Grand Alliance (GA) in the state, describing them as "sheer nonsense". Reacting to Shahs verbal attacks on the INDIA bloc leaders, Nitish said: "They are highly worried and unsettled since I launched the initiative to unite the opposition. I dont pay any attention to their utterances...they talk nonsense." Stating that they have no knowledge of development works done in Bihar, Nitish said the BJP people "have the habit of speaking only".Shahs speech turned up the heat on the opposition INDIA bloc over the issue of DMK leaderships "eradicate Sanatan" attack. He recalled how the Grand Alliance leaders had opposed the construction of Ram Mandir indicating that RJD chief Lalu Prasad was in the forefront and even arrested L K Advani. RJD chief Lalu Prasads elder son and minister Tej Pratap Yadav described Shah as jinxed like a "cat crossing the road". "Amit Shah only foments communal tensions in the state and has always blocked states progress through his action," he said. His mother and former CM Rabri Devi said it is the people who will elect the PM and not their (BJP) claims that Narendra Modi will become the PM again. "Are the people of the country in their control?" asked Rabri. "Why do they feel shame in calling India? Bharat is also the name of our country," she said and slammed BJP for remaining silent over issues like unemployment and inflation.Terming him as a "failed home minister", Congress leader Prem Chandra Mishra said BJP stands exposed and its false promises wont work any more as the masses are more aware about them. "Shah says the Bihar media is frequently reporting criminal incidents but I would suggest him to also read newspapers from Manipur and Haryana. What has he done for Manipur, which has been burning for the past three months?" asked Mishra. Rejecting BJPs claim about the Ram temple, Mishra said Ayodhya temple is being constructed on the courts order.
