Cabinet nod to over 69,000 posts of teachers in Bihar govt schools

PATNA: The state government has increased the monthly honorarium payable to Vikas Mitras, Shiksha Sewaks and Special Auxiliary Police (SAP), besides the salaries of excise department constables, ASIs and SIs, apart from creating 69,692 posts of government teachers for Class VI to XII. The governments proportional contribution to their employees provident fund will also get increased.Cabinet secretariat department additional chief secretary S Siddharth said that the state approved the increase in monthly honorarium of Vikas Mitras from Rs13,700 to Rs 25,000 from September 1. They are associated with the implementation of 39 schemes under Mahadalit Vikas Mission.The Shiksha Sewaks and Shiksha Sewaks (Talimi Markaj) will now get Rs22,000, instead of Rs11,000 per month. Similarly, SAP personnel recruited on contract will have increased salary of Rs19,800 and the junior commissioned officers among them will get Rs23,800.The excise department constables have got a monthly hike of Rs2,000, an assistant sub-inspector of Rs2,800 and sub-inspectors by Rs4,200.It was also decided to create 18,830 posts of teachers for Class XI and XII in government schools. On the other hand, the posts of 18,880 teachers have been created to teach in 9th and 10th classes and 31,982 posts of teachers meant for VIth to 8th classes.The cabinet also cleared the launch of Mukhyamantri Gramin Sadak Unnayan Yojanafor repairing or reconstructing rural roads.The proposal to provide milk powder twice a week to children in the age group of 3-6 years enrolled at Anganwadi centres was also cleared. An amount of Rs49.20 crore was approved to provide 2 LPG cylinders and an oven to each of the 1.5 lakh Anganwadi centres.The money required for water drainage systems in six urban bodies was also approved - Rs 49.20 crore for Jehanabad Nagar Parishad, Rs 104.56 crore for Sitamarhi Municipal Corporation, Rs 91.18 crore for Bodh Gaya, Rs 87.46 crore for Purnia, Rs 63.56 crore for Bettiah and Rs 60.16 crore for Sheohar.The proposal regarding payment of Rs 68.11 crore to Bihar Agriculture University, Sabour, was also approved.The cabinet cleared the payment of Rs120.96 crore to water resources department for the linking of Bagmati, Shatidhar and Burhi Gandak in Samastipur district.Further, a sum of Rs100 crore was cleared for SDRF building at Bihta (Patna).
