CDPHE conducts session on Role of Journalism, media and cinema for Nation and Generation Building

An online session was conducted on the Role of Journalism, media and cinema for Nation and Generation Building on July 30th by the Centre for Professional Development in Higher Education (CDPHE), University of Delhi. This session was a part of ongoing online sessions, being conducted from July 20th to August 1st for an online fresher course. Snippets of the session can be accessed through CDPHE Facebook page.

The session was graced by luminaries like Shri Prakash Dubey, Group Editor of Danik Bhaskar, Shri Pallava Bagla, Science Journalist, Prof. Jaishri Jethwaney, Senior ICSR Research Fellow at Institute for Studies in Industrial Development in Delhi and Shri Alok Verma, Founder & CEO of Newzstreet Media Group. They enlightened the students with their years of Experience and Knowledge into the field of Journalism, Media and Cinema.

Shri Alok Verma addressing the session on the topic “Indian Media Scenario: The Paradigm Shift” said, “that this pandemic has given us a great opportunity to address the issue, on how we can roll back the declining trend and rebuild the trust people have lost in the news.”

He also talked about making news more accessible to the large part of India, quoting that still there is only 57% of media reach in the entire country. “a large part of the country are still not accessing news in the news sense,” he added.

Mr. Verma also talked about how platforms like WhatsApp and TikTok have become carriers of Fake and False news.
