No excuse, CBSE to conduct exams as scheduled, know latest update

Summary:

Undoubtedly the fear exists, students should worry if they or any of their family members have tested positive during their CBSE practical exams, If happens they will not be marked absent rather the school will re-conduct before June 11 or after completion of the board theory exam.

Amid the covid cases in the surge, CBSE and CISCE (Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations) have reached a conclusion of conducting exams as per the schedule.  Ever since the country crossed the mark of 1 lakh cases and state governments ordered night curfews and shut down, students and parents are requesting the government to cancel or prepone board exams 2021.

A few days ago the hashtag #cancelboardexams2021 was trending on Twitter. It was a protest against the upcoming exams that are scheduled to be held from May 4, 2021.

Responding to over 1 lakh plea, CBSE and CISCE in a joint statement announced that they are not going to cancel the exams. They assured the students that they will take necessary precautions to curb the outspread. As per CBSE officials, the board has increased the number of centers by more than 2,500 owing to the social distancing protocols. The board exams will happen as per schedule.

“We will follow Covid SOPs released by the government of India. Plus, we are formulating our list of guidelines which will be released soon. CBSE will also create awareness among students and parents,” CBSE official Bhardwaj said.
