IIT KHARAGPUR ALUMNI TAKE A STEP FORWARD IN DE-STIGMATIZING THERAPY

Summary:

With the onset of the pandemic, it is hard to accept that our lives have changed for the
worse. Yes, We have to live with masks now but that’s not the worst part. After a year of continuous depressive thoughts and fear about Covid, we’d all collectively decided to give up. In times like these, it is getting difficult to stay positive. Increasing social distancing has also caused a lot of emotional distancing among people.

Co-founders, Lawrance Lovedeep and Sakshi Shah, have taken the onus to make lives easier for people with their venture GoodLives. As the name says, it is all about making lives happier. The aim is to help people find the right guidance in keeping their emotional and mental health upright. They’ve seen people in close proximity going through problems and unable to seek the right help. They both understand the importance of expressing their emotions and their vision is to make mental health treatment accessible forone and all.

In their latest campaign, they are also providing free therapy for relieving Covid related anxiety. A noble pursuit, to help as many people as they can. To maximize their reach, they are working with Influencers like Deepika Joshi, Sonal Arora, Jhilmil Saha and many more.

In just 10 months, the organisation has managed to establish its global presence with a growth of its client base in 6 different countries and user base to up to 45+ countries.
Lawrance describes how GoodLives is also helping corporates as well, where they help employees inde-stressing on a regular basis. “A lot of employers are conscious of the wellness of their employees. And they often want quick solutions that are personalized.”

Fighting the stigma against therapy and creating awareness has been the prime objective of the team so far. A dedicated team helps in initiating the conversation around emotional wellness, and provide therapeutic assistance from qualified experts with years of experience.

Sakshi shah, the co-founder, says, “We all know someone going through a tough time. We ourselves have been there, yet we hesitate to talk about it. We envision a future when seeking help for mental health concerns is as simple as visiting a general physician.”
With the changing times, these services will stand to be the backbone of our society, Good lives aims to help people live happier and healthier life in the future by pioneering the same. When everything is grim around us, it is the emotional strength that we need to endure to make it through the storm.
