Indian Railway concludes mega recruitment drive of 64371 ALP and technicians, training to start soon

The Indian Railway handed over joining letters to all shortlisted candidates of ALP and Technicians. The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) invited online applications to fill in 64371 posts of ALP and Technicians from February 03 to March 31, 2018. Approximately 47,45,176 lac candidates applied for 64371 vacancies, as per the Ministry of Railways statement. The Ministry of Railways released a press release related to the conclusion of the recruitment drive. The exam was conducted in 3 stages - Computer-based exam (CBT 1, CBT 2 and CBAT), Medical Test and Document Verification. Check all insights here.

As per the press release issued by the Ministry of Railways, the joining letters were issued before the lockdown started but some candidates couldn`t join due to the COVID-19 outbreak and the lockdown which followed. The panel of selected candidates has been approved for 56,378 shortlisted candidates (26968 ALPs and 28410 Technicians) out of the total 64371 vacancies (27795 ALPs and 64371 Technicians). The appointment letters have been issued to 40,420 candidates (22223 ALPs, 18197 Technicians).

The training of all the newly recruited 19,120 candidates (10123 ALPs and 8997 Technicians) will commence as soon as the lockdown gets lifted. As per the Ministry of Railways, the training process will be conducted for 17 weeks for ALPs and 06 months for Technicians posts. The training will include classroom training, followed by field training followed by testing of the competence before the candidates being deployed to their respective working post. The training will be conducted batch-wise keeping in mind the capacity of classroom, instructors, hostel, library etc.

The Ministry of Railways also mentioned that the recruitment process of RRB NTPC will resume as soon as the lockdown lifts up.
