Indian Class 8 student tops International Benchmark Test

A Class 8 student brought laurels to the country by scoring 100 percentile and securing the top position at the International Benchmark Test

The examination was held in November last year and the results were announced early this month.

The International Benchmark Test (IBT) is an internationally administered program of assessments with tests appropriate for grades 3 to 10 in the following subjects:

English 
Mathematics 
Science
Arabic Language (A and B)

The IBT allows schools to compare student performance internationally, between grades and overtime. Reports provide schools with detailed information about a student`s strengths and areas for improvement in all subjects. The IBT is a high-quality skill-based assessment not linked to any national curriculum. This allows students from all countries to be compared fairly.

Anahita is a student of Cambridge section of City Montessori School, Gomti Nagar Campus II. The test is organized by the Australian Council for Educational Research (ACER) once a year in many countries. In India, over 50,000 students took the IBT.

Anahita was awarded a cash prize of Rs 50,000. She has topped in all five skills of English language that includes comprehension, grammar, punctuation, spelling, and vocabulary by achieving 100th percentile in the IBT.

A Civil Services Aspirant, Anahita, said that she believed in learning than performing of competing. She kept on learning and that is how excelled the exam
