Minor raped, youth booked

Tribune News ServiceAmritsar, September 1A 16-year-old girl was allegedly kidnapped and raped by a youth of Gharinda village, near Attari, here. Mohit Kumar, SHO Gharinda police station, said the girl used to learn stitching at Attari while the accused was also known to her. He said the accused took her to Amritsar in his auto on the pretext of taking her to Attari. He said as per the complainant the accused took her to a hotel room and forcibly made physical relations with her. He said the medical examination of the victim would be conducted and raids were on to arrest Paramjit Singh, who was absconding since the incident.

Amritsar, September 1 A 16-year-old girl was allegedly kidnapped and raped by a youth of Gharinda village, near Attari, here. The accused, identified as Paramjit Singh, was yet to be arrested while on the statement of victim’s mother, the police have registered a case under Sections 363, 366, 376 of the IPC and Section 6 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. Mohit Kumar, SHO Gharinda police station, said the girl used to learn stitching at Attari while the accused was also known to her. He said the accused took her to Amritsar in his auto on the pretext of taking her to Attari.
