Six arrested with 510 gm of heroin

BRIEFLYTarn Taran: The police have arrested six persons with 510 gm of heroin in separate incidents. SP (headquarters) Gaurav Toora on Tuesday said a team of the local CIA staff led by Sub-Inspector Paramjit Singh recovered 500 gm of heroin from three persons, who were arrested from near Bhuse village. The SP said the suspects had been identified as Nirvail Singh, alias Tirath; Rasal Singh, alias Rajbir Singh, and Gurtej Singh. In another incident, the police have arrested Dilbag Singh of Mari Nau Abad, Gurpreet Singh and Sawinder Singh Jujj of Narli village with 10 gm of heroin. They have been pressing the government to give employment to one member of the family on compassionate ground.

OC Lok Adalat on December 14 Amritsar: The District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) will organise Lok Adalat at the sub-divisional courts in Baba Bakala and Ajnala on December 14. Sumit Makkar, secretary, DLSA, said compoundable offences under Section 138 of the Negotiable Instruments Act, bank recovery cases, MACT, labour disputes, electricity and water bills (excluding non-compoundable), matrimonial, land acquisition, services matters and civil matters would be heard by the Lok Adalat.
