Amritsar, December 10 A person was booked for allegedly teasing a schoolgirl here on Tuesday. The victim’s father told the police that the suspect had been following his teenaged daughter, who studies in a school at the Verka bypass, for the past two years and often made indecent comments. He said last week, when she, along with her aunt, went to the Golden Temple, the suspect stopped her on the way and demanded her mobile number. They went to the suspect’s house and told his father about the incident. The victim’s father added that on December 7, they had gone to the market and the person started following them. He said the suspect also made indecent comments. The complainant said he tried to stop him, but the latter issued threats. On a complaint of the victim’s father, a case under Sections 354-D, 341 and 506 of the IPC and Sections 3 and 4 of the POCSO Act was registered. ASI Sukhwinder Kumar said the police were investigating the matter.— TNS
