Amritsar, October 9 A 14-year-old girl was allegedly kidnapped and raped by a married person here on Saturday. The police have booked the prime accused’s wife along with two other persons in the case. Those booked have been identified are Varinder Singh, Sonu and his wife, all residents of Lopoke area. But no arrest has been made so far. The victim, a student of Class X at a private school in Chogwan, told the police that when she was waiting for her school van outside the school, Varinder and Sonu called her. When she went towards them, they allegedly picked and kidnapped her on their bike. The victim said they took her to an unknown house where Sonu’s wife was already present. She said Manjit and Varinder locked her along with Sonu in a room where he raped her. She alleged that they kept her in the room for the night and left her the next day at Lopoke Chowk. She alleged that the accused threatened to kill her family if she tried to disclose this to anyone. According to the police, a case under Sections 363 (punishment of kidnapping), 376 (Rape), 506 (criminal intimidation) and 34 of the IPC and Sections 4 and 6 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offence Act has been registered against the three accused. The police said the accused were at large since the registration of a case. The police authorities said the medical examination of the girl was conducted and raids were on to nab the suspects.
