Vadodara: A class VIII girl was molested by an unidentified car driver in a crowded area near Patel Industrial Estate on Dabhoi Road on Monday when she was going to school with her cousin.The girl’s uncle lodged a complaint with Panigate police station late on Monday night.The girl living near Yamuna Mill in Gajrawadi and her 10-year-old cousin were walking towards their school when a car driver passing from there stopped and called her. She thought that he was inquiring about some address and went near the car. As soon as she went close to him, the car driver opened the door and tried to pull her inside. He also pulled his pants down while trying to drag her.She was rescued when her cousin shouted for help and pulled her back. The car driver fled from there as the girl had started shouting for help and the area was also crowded. The two girls then went to a shop nearby and called her father.Police said that since the girls had not seen the registration number of car, it would be difficult to trace the accused. However, they are checking CCTV camera footages of the surrounding areas to help the girl identify the accused.Her uncle said that the girls go to school by a school van in the noon. The same van drops her brother back home and picks up the two girls for their afternoon shift. However, on Monday when her brother’s school got over and the school vans had left. So, girls went to drop him home and were again walking back to school when the incident took place.
