A 15-year-old girl was sexually assaulted in a forest near Bairagarh by a habitual offender. A case was registered on Thursday after the victim lodged a complaint. According to the police, the minor victim was sexually assaulted after she was taken to forest two months ago by the accused identified as Vicky Thakur who is a habitual criminal of area. The victim was lured by the accused and later held her captive where she was sexually assaulted. In her complaint, the victim stated that she was acquainted with the accused for the past two years and gradually developed friendship with the accused which soon turned into relationship and on May 9, the accused accompanied him to forest where he raped her. The victim managed to escape reached her house and reported the incident. The accused sexually assaulted the victim and threatened her of life which was reported by the victim to the police. After the victim lodged a complaint accused went absconding and is still at large. The police have registered a case under section 376, 506 and 367 of the IPC and section 3,4, 5 and 6 Protection of Children from Sexual Offences and have started further investigation.
