Bhatt to take call on protesting resident doctors' demand to revoke suspension

LUCKNOW: Seeking a reconsideration of the suspension order on two junior doctors, the Resident Doctors Association (RDA) met the new King George's Medical University vice-chancellor Prof MLB Bhatt on Friday and were assured that the authorities would reconsider the suspension order after a meeting on Saturday.RDA also apprised the vice-chancellor about what they referred to as 'anti-student steps', taken by his predecessor Prof Ravi Kant , which included abrupt hikes in fees and electricity charges. "The VC has said all issues will be looked into and cordial, family-like relations will be maintained between students, faculty and administration," said president of the association, Dr Shashank Mishra.On Wednesday, former KGMU VC Prof Ravi Kant had ordered the suspension of two resident doctors after the two allegedly attacked a patient's attendants in the surgery ward a day before.The patient hailed from Musafirkhana in Amethi.
