3 held for double murder, witness' killing averted

He then plotted the murder with his elder brother Suraj, who had already procured the weapons, to assault another man. While Deepak Tiwari and Suraj are residents of Jai Vihar colony, Shrikant lives in Shyam Vihar in Najafgarh.The three were nabbed from southwest Delhi’s Kakrola village with three country-made pistols, five live rounds and a stolen motorcycle. Cops said that they were caught when they were tailing the eyewitness of the murder, Sachin Thapa, with an aim to kill him as well. During investigation, it was found that the victims Neeraj and Deepak were out on a stroll on Sunday night on the Nangloi-Najafgarh road near Baprola village. Their friend Sachin was also with them.The three were followed by the assailants who came on a stolen motorcycle and fired more than seven bullets at Neeraj, Deepak and Sachin. While Neeraj and Deepak died on the spot, Sachin managed to escape in the dark.During interrogation, the accused told cops that a few days ago, Neeraj and Sachin had thrashed Tiwari after he refused to give them money. Tiwari had made a PCR call and filed a complaint against Sachin.Tiwari told police that he was being pressured to take back the complaint. He then plotted the murder with his elder brother Suraj, who had already procured the weapons, to assault another man. The two took a stolen motorcycle from Najafgarh and used it to attack Deepak, Neeraj and Sachin.
