Free arbitration facility at Gujarat National Law University

To promote arbitration as means to solve dispute resolution, Gujarat National Law University (GNLU) in Gandhinagar will now be offering free arbitration facility. The cell is also formulating GNLU International Arbitration Rules so as to become a preferred seat of arbitration in the near future. The University has also set up an Indian Arbitration Cell as part of which, training programmes for capacity building of arbitrators and mediators will be conducted. The University said, "With almost 33 million cases pending in different courts in India, the effectiveness of dispute resolution process has a huge impact on our economy and the global perception for doing business in India. The proposed Indian Arbitration Council aims to launch India as a global hub for international arbitration and will provide impetus to study on arbitration wherein GNLU library will play a vital role in the development of arbitration research." The library has procured more then 500 print volumes, covering the core area of arbitration in order to support academic, research and world arbitration practices.
