AHMEDABAD: The city seems not-so-safe for women, as two incidents of molestation were registered on Sunday, in Vadaj and Jamalpur areas of the city.Near the heavily crowded Vadaj bus station , a 19-year-old girl was molested by a 45-year-old man, when she was waiting for an autorickshaw to go to her home in Chandlodia.“I was standing at Vadaj bus station, waiting for an autorickshaw, when an unknown man came to me and asked me to accompany him. Before I could understood what was happening, he was pulling my hand and trying to pull me into a dark lane. When I tried to extricate myself with force, he began molesting me at the bus station. To save myself, I started screaming for help and some people gathered there and rescued me,” said the girl, a second-year BSc student at a city college.The girl then called the police control room and filed a complaint. Police rushed to the spot and nabbed the accused, who was later identified as Dilip Manji Chauhan, a resident of Juna Vadaj.In another incident, a 28-year-old woman, was molested when she was washing clothes in front of her house.“I was washing clothes in front of my house at around 5pm on Sunday. Hussain Shaikh, who lives in front of my house, came to me, held my hand and put his hands on my breasts. He asked me to go inside my house, as there was nobody inside at the time. I started screaming for help after he got aggressive, after which some of my neighbours rushed there and held him,” said the woman.Later, local residents took Shaikh to Gaekwad Haveli police station and the woman filed a complaint of molestation against him. Police booked Shaikh for molestation and began an investigation in the case.
