"I am sure that this egg is more likely to be a fossilized crocodilian egg of mid-Jurassic period. "The turtle egg fossils were found in Gangeshwar area of Khatrod hill range of Kutch. The present discovery of the crocodilian egg has been found near the same range. It was found in perfect condition, with egg shell with middle egg white and inner egg yolk," said Dr Bhudia. The sediments are 135 to 140 million years old in Khatrod hill," said the researcher.

In the last week of November, after two days of primary survey, researcher Dr Hirji Bhudia claimed that he had discovered a crocodilian egg belonging to the mid-Jurassic period, and which mean around 135 million years old. Associated with Kutch Itithas Parishad, Dr Bhudia said he explored different regions of Kutch looking for fossils. "During our two-day primary research, we found an egg. The specimen is from the Jurassic period with sediments of Khatrod hill near Kotada Chakar in Kutch. The size of the egg is approximately 7 inches by 4 inches. It was found in perfect condition, with egg shell with middle egg white and inner egg yolk," said Dr Bhudia. "I am sure that this egg is more likely to be a fossilized crocodilian egg of mid-Jurassic period. The sediments are 135 to 140 million years old in Khatrod hill," said the researcher. According to him, the latest discovery is related to other fossils found in and around the area in the past such as turtle egg fossils from 130 to 140 million years ago. "The turtle egg fossils were found in Gangeshwar area of Khatrod hill range of Kutch. The present discovery of the crocodilian egg has been found near the same range. The sediment is 135 to 140 million years old and hence it is believed that the egg fossil belongs to the same period," he said. Two years ago, Dr Bhudia along with German researchers found turtle egg fossils from Khatrol hill. Next, the team will for an exploration looking for dinosaur fossils in July-August 2019.
