AHMEDABAD: Gandhinagar police on Sunday left Ahmedabad for Delhi with key accused Yashpalsinh Solanki and others arrested in the LRD paper leak case. Police sources said that while teams of Gujarat ATS and Ahmedabad crime branch are hunting for the link between the mole (who leaked the paper), supposedly working in the printing press located in South India and the Delhi-based gang who prepared the answer key.Nilesh Patel- a coaching class owner from Gujarat- is assumed to be the link and cops will try to locate the four to five places where 28 candidates of LRD exams were made to sit and memorize the answer key.“On the way, we will be verifying the route the candidates and the key accused Manhar Patel and Mukesh Chaudhary along with Nilesh Patel took to first reach Gurugram of Haryana and then Delhi,” said an investigator.Meanwhile, Gujarat police claims to have identified three more accused in the case who could be nabbed soon. “Teams of Gandhinagar police, Gujarat ATS and crime branch are currently camping in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra , Delhi and Karnataka to track and nab members of the Delhi-based gang who are suspected to have leaked question papers of several competitive exams held across the country,” said a top police official.Nearly 8.75 lakh candidates who were to appear for 9,713 posts of LRD ( fixed-pay constables) were inconvenienced at more than 2,400 exam centres across Gujarat when the answer key of the question paper was leaked hours before the exam.Class-3 Police Recruitment Board, which is headed by additional DGP Vikas Sahay had taken a decision in public interest to postpone the exams even when the candidates had already reached the exam centres.The LRD exams will now be held on January 6, 2019 and call letters for the same will be dispatched to the candidates soon. Gandhinagar police have also identified candidates who had accessed the answer key through a social messaging application and have written to different recruitment boards to blacklist them. “The recruitment boards will now take a decision whether to blacklist the candidates or not. Meanwhile, Gandhinagar police have claimed to have identified more candidates who had access to the answer key of the LRD exam paper before the exams were held,” said a police official.
