The city police have arrested a man and his paramour for the attempted murder of the former's 55-year-old wife in Maninagar. According to the police, the incident took place on December 30 last year, and the man and his lover had hired a contract killer to murder the victim. The arrested accused have been identified as Amit Thakor, 33, and his lover Daksha Vaghela. The duo hired 19-year-old Deshrajsinh Gajjar, who has also been arrested. All three are currently in Crime Branch custody, and further investigations are on. According to the police, a complaint was lodged by the victim, Bhanvaben Thakor, 55, a resident of Maninagar. She said that on December 30, at around 7 pm, she had gone with her husband to the Maninagar Cross Road area for some shopping. While Bhavna was alone inside the car, an unidentified person got in and slit her neck using a cutter and fled from the spot. Immediately after the incident, a group of people gathered at the spot, and her husband later took her to the LG Hospital. She survived the attack, and once out of danger, she registered a complaint with the Maninagar police. The case was later handed over to the Crime Branch. Through the help of CCTV footage and technical surveillance, officials tracked down Gajjar and arrested him. During interrogation, he revealed that Amit and Daksha hired him to kill Bhavna, and had paid him Rs 10,000 in advance for the same. When the police questioned Amit and Daksha, they revealed that they were in a relationship since three years and wanted to live together. But since Bhavna was a problem, they decided to kill her. It was also revealed that this wasn't the first time they tried to kill Bhavna. In fact, after the incident, Amit was certain she wouldn't survive, and so had taken her to the hospital. That she managed to survive nailed his lie. Crime And The City A 33-year-old man and his partner wished to live together. The only problem: The man’s 55-year-old wife. The duo hired a contract killer to murder the wife. However, what nobody had foreseen was the wife would survive, and the killer would spill the beans on the plot being hatched by the two lovebirds.
