On the first day of his two-day tour of Gujarat, All India Congress Committee (AICC) President Rahul Gandhi addressed his first rally in Vanthali of Junagadh district. Polling is scheduled for the state on April 23, 2019, and the star campaigners from the Congress and BJP are making their all-out efforts. During his address, he alleged that the Prime Minister is making two Hindustans for the last five years. “The Narendra Modi government is making two Hindustans. One is for the likes of Anil Ambani, Mehul Choksi, Nirav Modi. Whatever these people want, Modi does for them. And there is another Hindustan of demonetization, of Gabbarsingh Tax, farmers, labourers and small businessmen. “Whatever the government is doing at the Centre, it is doing for the 15 to 20 businessmen. In the last five years, 3 lakh 50 thousand crore rupees debt relief was given only to the 15 businessmen. And when farmers are asking for a loan, then the government says they don’t have money,” said the AICC president. He added that before the state election in 2017, he had promised to farmers that their loans would be waived off in ten days. However, the result was different. But in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh, they have done what was promised before election. Gandhi further said that he had asked his think tank for a figure on how much amount they can give to people who are needy. And they came to conclusion that Rs 72,000 to 20% of the poor is a realistic target and the Congress would do that. “The fishermen told me that they are facing many problems and that many times, they have been detained by the Pakistan government. I promise, we will have a separate minister for fishermen,” remarked Gandhi.
