A father has filed a complaint against his own son-in-law for harassing him by sending obscene pictures of his daughter. According to a complaint registered with the Gujarat University police station, Sunil Singh (name changed) approached the cops after his son-in-law who now lives in Canada began sending him obscene pictures of his daughter. In one such picture, he managed to morph the picture of his daughter showing her with a guy who had earlier shown interest in marrying her. Singh said that his daughter and son-in-law had got married in 2013. Originally a resident of Delhi, his son-in-law had then moved to Canada with his wife. But his wife left him and came to live with her parents following marital discord. Later the son-in-law following her came to live on rent in Ambawadi, however, that didn’t go for long and the due parted thier ways again. In 2016, the accused once again got in touch with Singh and his family. “The son-in-law had filed a complaint against Singh and his family in the Gujarat University police station but the cops could not trace him to his address in Delhi,” said an official. The complainant said that his daughter filed a case against her husband and in-laws and initiated divorce proceedings in 2017. Singh in his complaint said that in 2018 he got an obscene picture on his Whatsapp number. The picture was of his daughter and a guy the family was in talks with for her marriage. The family chose not to complain hoping that the matter would die down but the son-in-law again sent a picture of a reception card showing the girl and her father as the bride and groom, respectively. Police Inspector In-charge PB Desai said that the accused in the case is in Canada. “The couple has had an acrimonious relationship for the past three years and this seems to be a case of the husband trying to get even with his spouse,” said Desai.
