The grandeur of the private hospital has gone berserk due to the negligence of the city authorities. Even in the current situation of Covid-19, the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) and the government`s health system had tears in their eyes to support the private hospital, but this negligence of the system and its lukewarm attitude towards the private hospital is fatal for patients and relatives.

Out of 2100 hospitals, only 91 hospitals have obtained Fire Department No Objection Certificate (NOC). While all the other hospitals are running like living bombs.

Whether it is Ahmedabad`s municipal system or the state health department`s lax policy and conciliatory attitude, private hospitals in smart cities like Ahmedabad are rampantly robbing patients due to lax policy and conciliatory attitude. So much so that the AMC is running the hospital business by flouting government policy rules. Due to the combination of such a system and a private hospital, when a disaster or incident occurs, the system wakes up and then forgets everything in a few days. The move to the so-called prestigious Shreya Hospital in Ahmedabad has once again proved that many innocent lives are lost due to the negligence of the system.

Currently Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation and Health Department have asked to start Covid-19 wards in private hospitals in the city to provide quick and good treatment to patients during Koro epidemic. Most of the private hospitals started looting millions of rupees in the name of treating corona patients and putting humanity on the line, eventually forcing private hospitals to reduce corona treatment rates on the instructions of the government and the High Court.

AMC remained asleep on the issue of NOC of hospitals. Meanwhile, some conscious citizens had approached the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation and the government about the lack of fire safety or fire NOC in private hospitals. Yet no action was taken. From January to July last year, out of a total of 2100 hospitals in Ahmedabad city, only 91 hospitals had taken fire NOC, but the AMC system remained asleep.
