Rajasthan assembly election 2018 BJP bets on oldtimers in Ajmer

AJMER: BJP reposed faith in the four sitting MLAs in Ajmer in upcoming state assembly elections while the party betted again on Ramswaroop Lamba who contested the Lok Sabha polls in January this year but lost. The party brought back his son Ram Swaroop Lamba, who lost the Lok Sabha bypolls by about 80,000 votes. It was a surprise even for the BJP workers who protested and agitated against the candidate.

The saffron party replaced Bhagirath Choudhary in Kishangarh and brought in new young face Vikas Choudhary.On Sunday late night, the ruling party released the first list of names in which state education minister Vasudev Devnani was repeated fourth time from Ajmer north constituency to make good of his influence over the Sindhi community. State minister Anita Bhadel was also repeated fourth time from Ajmer south constituency. Notwithstanding some dissidence both leaders faced, the party relied on their state ministers.While Suresh Rawat was trusted again getting the Pushkar constituency and Sushil Kanwar Palara will again contest from Masuda constituency. Bhagirath Choudhary was replaced by young Vikas Choudhary in Kishangarh giving the caste calculations a balance. It was a surprise even for the BJP workers who protested and agitated against the candidate. The candidate from Kekeri has not been declared where Shatru Gautam is sitting MLA and waiting for the Congress list where it is expected that sitting MP of Ajmer Raghu Sharma can contest elections from this seat.With BJP announcing its first list, people here are waiting for the list of Congress candidates.
