JAIPUR/JODHPUR/JAISALMER: On Saturday morning, a day after the state voted for assembly elections, Hawa Mahal Congress candidate Mahesh Joshi looked relaxed. They have spent sleepless nights and tiresome days while luring voters during their election campaigning. During election campaigning I did not get time to play golf. At home, he remained busy with his family and parents.The candidates mostly preferred to remain indoors attending to household and family chores. “I am having food after 30 days at my home without any hurry,” said Satish Poonia, BJP candidate from Amber.Grandchildren of Sitaram Agarwal, Congress candidate from Vidhyadhar Nagar constituency did not leave him for a second on Saturday.

He had called a barber at home to get his hair cut. “Bhai thode badh gaye hain tees din main, time hi nahin mila cutting ke liye (In these 30 days they’ve grown a little, I did not get time to go for a hair cut),” Joshi told his barber.Arun Chaturvedi ( BJP After spending more than 30 days in rigorous election campaigns, candidates contesting assembly polls took time out to relax on Saturday. They have spent sleepless nights and tiresome days while luring voters during their election campaigning. Since the hullaballoo of election campaigning has come to an end, Congress and BJP candidates were continuously receiving calls from near and dear ones wishing them success in the election.Ghanshyam Tiwari ( BVP Some candidates were so busy with canvassing during these last 30 days that they did not get time even to eat at home. “I am having food after 30 days at my home without any hurry,” said Satish Poonia, BJP candidate from Amber.Grandchildren of Sitaram Agarwal, Congress candidate from Vidhyadhar Nagar constituency did not leave him for a second on Saturday. “They missed me for 30 long days. I am 60 now, I enjoy being with my grandchildren. I live in a joint family, which has its own advantages,” said Agarwal, who is now busy helping his grandchildren with their studies.Congress candidate from Adarsh Nagar, Rafeek Khan woke up early on Saturday and took out time to read the newspaper. While revealing his day’s plan, he said, “I love to play golf. During election campaigning I did not get time to play golf. Today, I will spend my time at the golf club.”Contesting polls against Ghanshyam Tiwari, who formed a new party, BJP candidate from Sanganer, Ashok Lahoty, did not get time for his children all these days. At home, he remained busy with his family and parents.The candidates mostly preferred to remain indoors attending to household and family chores. Manisha Panwar, Congress candidate from Jodhpur constituency, cooked food for her family and took stock of the progress of her children’s study with the half-yearly exams barely a few days away.Her rival in election and BJP candidate Atul Bhansali relaxed his strained muscles caused by sleepless nights and day-night long campaigning schedules. He slept soundly without having to worry about the next day and had tea with family. Later, he attended a family function at his sister’s house.Octogenarian BJP candidate from Soorsagar constituency, Suyrakanta Vyas, fondly referred to as “Jiji”, got up in the morning and attended the morning chores. She took her time in ‘pooja’ and attended to the party workers visiting her.Shambhu Singh Khetasar, BJP candidate from Sardarpura, remained at home with his family members, and made sure to meet party workers talking about polling and the prospects.While, Congress candidate from Jaisalmer, Roopa Ram Meghwal had tea with family members and later got a head massage to get over tiredness and tension that had been building all these days. Meghwal said that like every day, he got up at 5am. His two daughters came from America and Delhi to help him for the election campaign. “My third daughter who is zilla pramukh in Jaisalmer helped me also during election campaign,” said the proud father.BJP candidate Sang Singh from Jaisalmer, went to several temples and paid obeisance and prayed for his victory. Many people at the temples wished him success.
