In a first, UP Police to train 8,000 constables in other states

ALLAHABAD: In a first, UP Police will send over 8,000 newly appointed constables to other states and central para-military forces’ training institutes for training because of the limited seats at its recruitment training centres (RTCs).As many as 28,000 constables were recruited by the state police department via the examinations conducted in 2015. The first phase would be from July 25 to October 25 and the second phase would start from October 26 to January 27 in other states.“Once these constables complete their training, they can be an asset for the UP Police to assist visitors coming from southern states,” the SP added. The constables were scheduled to join July 11 onwards.Around 8,000 of them would be sent to states like Tamil Nadu , Kerela, Bihar , Assam, Maharastra, Rajasthan Andhra Pradesh , Uttrakhand for regular training.SP (city) Purnendu Singh said, “Following the state government’s order, the UP Police headquarters has issued a district-wise list of newly recruited constables who would be heading towards institutes in other states for training.”Singh said that these constables would be trained by sub-inspectors and inspector rank officials.The constables would be trained from July 25 to January 27, 2019.Singh, said, “The other 20,000 recruited constables would be imparted training at four state recruit training centres—at Chunar, Unnao, Meerut and Gorakhpur—75 police lines and 26 PAC battalions.” He said that the state government had taken the decision in the wake of the limited seats at police training institutes.The trainers from RTCs would be training the new recruits in two phases.
