Shah to inaugurate new Yamuna ghat

The new ghat would be the fifth permanent ghat in Allahabad and the third one across Yamuna.Meanwhile, the saints of Shri Panch Nirmohi Akhara performed the 'bhumi pujan' of their akhara at Daraganj. ALLAHABAD: The new permanent ghat being constructed at Yamuna near Maujagiri would be inaugurated by Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Amit Shah during his visit to Allahabad on July 27.Shah would also be accompanied by chief minister Yogi Adityanath during his visit. Shah would also be laying the foundation stone of the yoga centre of ' Panchdashnaam Juna Akhara'.The new ghat is coming up near the new Yamuna bridge, at Maujagiri and has a concrete base. The BJP president would also be performing the 'bhasam aarti' at the ghat along with general secretary of the Juna Akhara Mahent Hari Giri. The construction work at the ghat is almost over and the state government set aside a coupus of Rs 65 lakhs for the ghat's construction.Spread across 30 meters in width and 60 meters in length, the Maujagiri ghat is being constructed under the guidance of the state irrigation departmen.

The BJP president would also be performing the 'bhasam aarti' at the ghat along with general secretary of the Juna Akhara Mahent Hari Giri."The aarti would be performed by 11 pandits who would be chanting Vedic mantras and the dignitaries would be offering 'bhasam' (ashes) to the shivlinga," said Giri.For the ritual, organisers of the event have brought 11kg of ashes from Mahant Prakashpuri of Ujjain.A large quantity of 'bel leaves' and ' dhatura' fruit are being brought from Pratapgrah and Kaushambi respectively for offering to Lord Shiva. Shah would also be laying the foundation stone of the yoga centre of ' Panchdashnaam Juna Akhara'.The new ghat is coming up near the new Yamuna bridge, at Maujagiri and has a concrete base. Its stairs are made with the famous red coloured sandstone from Mirzapur and would have a railing t help persons with disabilities. The construction work at the ghat is almost over and the state government set aside a coupus of Rs 65 lakhs for the ghat's construction.Spread across 30 meters in width and 60 meters in length, the Maujagiri ghat is being constructed under the guidance of the state irrigation departmen. The akharas had requested the state government to grant them permission and sanction some funds for the permanent construction at their akhara which would cater to the needs of their followers.
