Helpline number of North Central Railway produces good result

ALLAHABAD: The North Central Railway has once again demonstrated its commitment towards the protection of women and children. The children rescued are those who are lost/separated from their families. The NCR has also rescued 603 children in the same period (from January to July 2018). Under Section 155 of the Railway Act, 5700 people have been apprehended for trying to board/travel in reserved coaches without having proper travelling authority for the same. “We want to provide a safe and secure travelling environment as well as a pleasant travel experience to all our esteemed passengers, especially women, children and those travelling with their families.

ALLAHABAD: The North Central Railway has once again demonstrated its commitment towards the protection of women and children. As per the latest data, from January to July, 2018, NCR has attended more than 1100 calls on its security helpline number, (182) and all the complainants have been suitably helped.Chief Public Relation Officer (CPRO), G K Bansal said that among these 1100 passengers helped by the Railway Protection Force , 228 are women. The NCR has also rescued 603 children in the same period (from January to July 2018). The children rescued are those who are lost/separated from their families. Out of these 603 children rescued, 148 are girl children whose childhood has been saved due to the efforts of NCR.NCR has further demonstrated its commitment to the wellbeing of its lady passengers by prosecuting 7317 persons trying to enter compartments of various trains reserved for women over the system of the zonal railway under section 162 of the Railway Act. On one hand this action has prevented would-be wrongdoers from entering ladies’ compartments, and on the other hand it has increased the confidence of lady-passengers.Another important step that has been taken is in the direction of providing safe and secure travel to families and other passengers travelling on reserved tickets. Under Section 155 of the Railway Act, 5700 people have been apprehended for trying to board/travel in reserved coaches without having proper travelling authority for the same. The action of NCR administration on these multiple fronts has been welcomed by bonafide passengers having valid tickets travelling authorities.Speaking on these achievements, GM, NCR Rajiv Agarwal said that the NCR is committed to helping its passengers, in particular women and children. “We want to provide a safe and secure travelling environment as well as a pleasant travel experience to all our esteemed passengers, especially women, children and those travelling with their families. The statistics underscore and highlight our efforts in this direction” he added.
