On snag-ridden last day, record 22 lakh register for UPTET

ERA said that the figure of 22.77 lakh is likely to decrease to over 17 lakh applicants.Secretary of ERA, Anil Bhushan Chaturvedi, said, “Many aspirants applied twice even thrice as they did not receive the confirmation message as the server slowed down. The duplicate registrations will be automatically removed by the software and the actual figure will come down to17 lakh.”The form filling process, which started on September 18, was marred by technical snags for over two weeks. ALLAHABAD: A record 22.77 lakh candidates registered for the Uttar Pradesh Teachers’ Eligibility Test (UPTET 2018) this year, even as the chorus for extending the deadline for submission of forms gained momentum after many faced problems while filling up the online forms due to a slow server on Sunday.However the, the Examination Regulatory Authority, the body conducting the UPTET-2018, said that the number of applicants who registered for the exam on Sunday is likely to come down as many candidates registered more than once due to the technical snag in the server.
