AU action against six student leaders

ALLAHABAD: Authorities of Allahabad University have taken strict action against six student leaders. It also says that the rusticated student leaders will not be granted admission in any course of study offered by AU and shall not be allowed to appear as a regular or ex-student in an examination conducted by AU during the rustication period.Further, the student leaders, if they are enrolled in any of the courses at AU, their name stands stuck off immediately from the rolls for a period of 5 years and under no circumstances will they be allowed to complete the degree or the program during rustication period. Among these, Neeraj and Anand are students of AU while Ankush is enrolled at Lucknow University.AU Registrar, on Monday, have issued a letter stating that these 6 have been rusticated from University for 5 years with immediate effect. While two of them, who are currently students of AU have been rusticated, others have been banned from entering the campus for a period of 5 years.These student leaders were earlier blacklisted from entering the campus in the month of July after which two of them had sought relief from Allahabad High Court the High Court which had directed the authorities to form an enquiry committee and give a chance to the student leaders before taking any step.Student leaders include Vikrant Singh, Neeraj Pratap Singh, Vivekananda Pathak, Ankush Yadav, Surya Prakash Mishra and Anand Kumar Singh. Likewise AU campus is declared out of bound for them individually are collectively for a period of 5 years.However in case of Ankush Yadav, the report of the enquiry committee and the reply submitted by Ankush have been sent to the Chief Rector of AU (i.e Governor Ram Naik) with a request to direct the same to the VC of Lucknow University for appropriate action against Ankush as his student of MS Social Work 3rd semester for session 2017-18 of LU.AU chief proctor, Prof RS Dubey has been asked to inquire about the other stude t leaders as to where they are currently studying etc so that the institution concerned can be informed for taking suitable action against these student leaders, says the letter of the registrar, AU.
