Student held for assaulting employee of Wi-Fi provider

Aurangabad: Abu-bakr, a Yemeni student pursuing higher studies in the city, was booked for assaulting an employee at the office of his Internet service provider on Tuesday after his complaints regarding Wi-Fi services being down went unanswered.The incident happened at the commercial complex at Murginala falling. As per the complaint lodged by Mohammed Viqar (28), due to rains and heavy winds on Tuesday, several connections in the city faced connectivity problems. The executive was saved by other employees intervened. The police is in the process of obtaining further details about the suspect.The city police is also trying to bring the matter to the notice of the Yemeni embassy, to ensure that such foreign students live in discipline, sources said.

As per the complaint lodged by Mohammed Viqar (28), due to rains and heavy winds on Tuesday, several connections in the city faced connectivity problems. The executives and technical teams remained on field for the entire day, during which the Yemeni student was also calling the office landline.“I am the only English-speaking staffer in the office and as a result the other employees could neither understand what the calls were about and nor could he make the Yemeni student understand that things will be all right by evening,” Viqar said.After he reached office in the evening, the suspect entered and started questioning why his complaints were not answered. Before the executive could explain anything, the suspect started assaulting and bashing him. The executive was saved by other employees intervened. Before leaving the office, the suspect also threatened the executive with dire consequences.The police arrested the student at midnight and registered an offence under section 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), section 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace) and section 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). The police is in the process of obtaining further details about the suspect.The city police is also trying to bring the matter to the notice of the Yemeni embassy, to ensure that such foreign students live in discipline, sources said.
