Aurangabad: Aurangabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) and the state government on Thursday sought time to file their replies in the contempt petition filed by Rahul Kulkarni, whose petition was disposed by the high court on March 7 following assurances given by the state government and AMC on garbage disposal in the city.However, when the civic body that failed to address the issue even after directions from the court, the petitioner approached the court again through lawyer Devdutta Palodkar.The matter came up before the high court bench comprising Justice SS Shinde and Justice VK Jadhav on Thursday, when the lawyer representing the petitioner drew the attention of the court toward the failure of the civic body on garbage disposal. The lawyer also sought to add the new chief secretary, the municipal commissioner, and the district collector as respondents.Rahul Kulkarni had filed a public interest litigation through lawyer Devdutta Palodkar seeking directions to the civic body to dispose of garbage and municipal waste.
