MSEDCL convention focuses on ways to upgrade knowledge & skill set

He also shed light on the various different aspects which are taken into consideration by the Maharashtra Energy Regulatory Commission (MERC) while deciding power tariff.Established in December last year, the State Account Employees Association today has a membership of nearly 1,000 employees. Aurangabad: The top brass of the state power utility has appealed to staff from the accounts department to upgrade their knowledge and skill set to keep themselves abreast with the times, during a special convention held here recently.Held under the banner of the State Account Employees Association, the event saw participation from over 500 staffers of the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Ltd. (MSEDCL), who came from different parts of the state.Addressing the day-long event, the MSEDCL chief general manager of corporate accounts, Satish Talnikar said that acquiring the latest knowledge as well as technology offers a competitive edge to any employee. “The process of upgrading one’s knowledge not only benefits the employee but also benefits the company due to the improved efficiency of the employee,” he said.Talnikar also addressed participants about the process of drafting a proposal for the power tariff and also the role that employees from the accounts department play in it.Retired MSEDCL chief engineer Satish Bapat, who presided over the function, gave a detailed presentation about the process of charting out a tariff proposal.
