Joyous processions, prayers mark Eid-Milad celebrations in city

Aurangabad: Zealous and joyful processions marked the Eid-Milad-Un-Nabi celebrations in the city on Wednesday. The Durgah at Khuldabad has a rare costume, which is believed to have been worn by Prophet Muhammad. Clad in different traditional attires, the devotees carrying flags and banners raised slogans in the praise of Prophet Muhammad. The Eid-Milad-Un-Nabi, thus, is to remember the Prophet and his profound pro-life teachings,” he said.While no delicacies as such are synomymous with Eid-Milad-Un-Nab celebrations, Muslims savoured biryani and other traditional savouries along with sweets to mark the celebrations. One can easily find harmony and peace within self and around the society if we follow His teachings.

Eid-Milad-Un-Nabi, also known as Mawlid, is celebrated every year to mark birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad.Hundreds of faithful of all ages joined the main procession, which started from Nizamuddin Chowk in Shahaganj area. Clad in different traditional attires, the devotees carrying flags and banners raised slogans in the praise of Prophet Muhammad. The colourful procession returned to the point of origin after covering different areas such as Raza Bazzar, Jinsi colony, Champa Chowk and Budhdhi Lane.Khuldabad, located around 30km from here, witnesses many massive congregations of devotees coinciding with the Eid-Milad-Un-Nabi. The Durgah at Khuldabad has a rare costume, which is believed to have been worn by Prophet Muhammad. It is kept in open for devotees to pay obeisance on the occasion of Eid-Milad-Un-Nabi along with rare hair of the prophet.Abdul Salam Quadri, a resident of Harsul area, said Eid-Milad-Un-Nabi was a joyous occasion, which makes him more spiritual and pious after remembering the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad. “The teachings of beloved Prophet are simple but highly effective. One can easily find harmony and peace within self and around the society if we follow His teachings.
