Students begin their day on positive note with laughter

AURANGABAD: A positive atmosphere prevailed at the Dnyanesh Vidya Mandir on Thursday morning as the students and staff started their day with yoga and laughter to mark World Laughter Day The event was organised by the Aurangabad branch of Bharatiya Yog Sansthan (BYS) at the school in Cidco N-2. The yoga experts said that laughing sessions should be held in schools for at least two to five minutes. Laughter immediately brings the person in their present, allowing him/her to enjoy life as it goes.”The session, designed to connect laughter with yoga, sensitised the participants about the different types of laughter — belly laugh, loud convulsive laughter, cackle, chortle and suppressed laugh — and its benefits.“In yoga, laughter is linked with release of stress. Around 400 students, along with their teachers, participated in the session.The worldwide Laughter Yoga Movement observes the world laughter day on January 10 every year to develop create brotherhood through laughter and spread awareness on the benefits of laughter on the body and mind.Trimbak Aghav facilitated the laughter session on behalf of New Delhi-based Bharatiya Yog Sansthan.Speaking on the importance of laughter, Uttam Kalawane, divisional head of BYS, said, “People are usually in their past or future. Laughing leads to creation of positive hormones in the body, relaxes the nerves and muscles which lead to the development of positive energy,” said Kalawane.The NGO holds yoga sessions at 40 different places in the city daily in the morning.
