AURANGABAD: In a strange case, adults were arrested after fighting over a video made by two children, both minors, using an App called Tiok Tok.The video, by a boy and a girl, caused adults to enter into a fight and lodge complaints against each other with police. Both parties were arrested. Jinsi police inspector Shyamsundar Vasurkar said, “The girl’s father was arrested on suspicion of kidnapping and beating the boy, on a complaint from the father of the boy. The girl’s father later brought a complaint too, and we have arrested the boy’s father on suspicion of outraging her modesty and under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act.”Both the fathers were given conditional bail and being produced in court on Wednesday and Thursday.A police officer involved in the investigation said a 17-year-old boy using the mobile phone of his friend would chat with the 13-year old girl. She did not own a phone of her own and used her mother’s. The girl’s mother recently got to know of their chats and warned the boy, asking him to refrain from contacting the girl. Meanwhile, a video surfaced showing the boy and girl lip-sync a song and some scripted speech. The girl’s family was enraged by the video, picked up the boy and allegedly gave him a sound thrashing.The boy’s family learnt of the assault late at night and his father, a government employee, took the matter to police. Early Tuesday, police booked the girl’s kin on charges of kidnapping and criminal intimidation.On Wednesday night, the girl’s family took the matter to police and another complaint was lodged. The boy’s father too was arrested, and later granted bail.
